FARMINGTON – There will be a concert Saturday featuring participants in the Farmington Fiddle Workshop and their teachers, Steve Muise, Ellen Gawler and Lisa Ornstein. The concert begins at 7 p.m. Saturday in Nordica Auditorium at the University of Maine at Farmington.

Registered participants have already been working hard on some preselected fiddle tunes and they will have a work session with the Farmington Fiddle Workshop teachers on Saturday afternoon.

The teachers include Gawler working with beginners. She has been teaching fiddling and the Pineland Fiddlers in Belgrade.

She performs with Trillium, The Gawler Family Band, Childsplay and she teaches at the Maine Fiddle Camp.

Muise will work with intermediate fiddlers. He teaches elementary through high school orchestra and the Franklin County Fiddlers in SAD 9. He performs with Frigate, Boreal Tordu and he teaches at the Maine Fiddle Camp.

Ornstein will work with advanced fiddlers. She is a teacher In Fort Kent and has done extensive research, recordings and performances with many famous Quebecois musicians.

The concert and clinic will be sponsored by the Arts Institute of Western Maine. Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $6 for seniors and students.
