This letter concerns the letter to the editor from Jon Albrecht of Dixfield (Oct. 23).

Mr. Albrecht complains that the far right controls virtually all radio, TV, newspapers and that few moderates or liberals get national coverage.

The media is overwhelmingly liberal. Consider TV: ABC, CBS, CNN and NBC are all very liberal.

The newspapers – Boston Globe, New York Times, Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times, as well as most major daily newspapers – are all liberal. Talk radio, the most democratic of the media, is conservative because this is what sells.

Liberal hosts such as Mario Cuomo and Jim Hightower failed, along with many others, because few people want to listen to them.

The liberals have had things their own way for so long that they forget how to compete.
