AUBURN – The Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District will hold its annual meeting from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at the Danville Grange.

LouAnna Perkins, executive director of Maine Farmland Trust, and Stephanie Gilbert, director of Farmland Protection, Maine Department of Agriculture, will be speakers for a program titled “How Farmers Can Protect Farmland Landowner Options and Opportunities in Maine.”

The speakers will give an introductory presentation on decision-making needs, such as farm viability, farmland protection and estate planning, then will review opportunities that exist for landowners in Maine. A question-and-answer session is planned.

A harvest dinner will be served at noon, which will feature local farm products prepared by members of the Danville Grange. A short awards program will follow the luncheon, and recognition will be given for the Cooperator of the Year, Friend of Conservation, Watershed Conservation and Forestry Education. A silent auction will be held.
