1918-2003

LEWISTON – George C. Neault, 85, of 102 Campus Ave., died Saturday, Nov. 1, at St. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion after a long illness.

He was born in Biddeford on Feb. 1, 1918, a son of Joseph O. and Arsenia Richard Neault. He was educated in Biddeford schools. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.

On July 4, 1949, he married Dorothy Grondin in Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Lewiston. He worked 13 years with the Saco-Lowell Shops and last worked 21 years with Saco Tanning Corp., retiring in 1983.

He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Veterans of Foreign War, a past commander of the Biddeford Amvets, and a member of the Rochambeau Club and St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.

Surviving are one daughter, Denise R. Allie of Lewiston; one granddaughter, Jaime-Lyn J. Allie of Auburn; three sisters, Alberta Sansoucy of Charleston, Mass., Exilda (Mrs. Clarence) Michaud of Three Rivers, Mass., and Estelle Lavigne of Biddeford; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy, on April 6, 1985; five brothers; and three sisters.
