AUBURN – David Steven Rappoport of the Maine Heath Access Foundation will be the keynote speaker at the annual meeting of Common Ties Mental Health Coalition on Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Hilton Garden Inn Riverwatch.
Common Ties provides community support services to area residents having a mental illness
Rappoport is the senior program officer of the foundation, Maine’s largest health care group and third largest foundation overall. He has spent his professional life in the nonprofit sector.
Prior to joining the foundation, he consulted throughout the rural U.S. on AIDS and homeless housing, managed clinical trials in Philadelphia and served as an administrator in a New York City hospital. He serves on the boards of Maine Initiatives and the Maine Community Foundation Equity Fund, holds an MA from Goddard College and is completing an MS in management at Antioch New England Graduate School. He frequently leads grant-writing and other fund-raising workshops.
Rappoport will speak on the activity of the Maine Health Access Foundation, with a focus on recent statewide grant awards supporting access to health care for all Maine citizens.
Common Ties is a recent awardee and will implement a model of integrative primary and behavioral health care in conjunction with St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
