AUBURN – The VFW Past President’s Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the home of Joan Hebert.

Members will finish projects as they finalize preparations for the annual Christmas Fair on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the VFW Post Home, 588 Minot Ave.

Grange supper

WINTHROP – Winthrop Grange 209 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, for a potluck supper, chaired by Stan and Marilyn Taylor.

Norma Maxim is in charge of the program, which follows the business meeting at 7:30.

Golden Years

MONMOUTH – The Golden Years Club will meet at noon Wednesday, Nov. 5, for a potluck luncheon at the Packard Activity Center.

Menus will be available for the club’s annual Christmas dinner. All are asked to attend or have someone speak for them.

DAR session

BOWDOIN – Regent Jayne Bickford announces that Burnt Meadow Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the home of Mrs. Robert Coombs.

Following the business meeting, Coombs, National Defense Committee chairwoman, will present a program on National Defense.

Bridge results

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on Oct. 28 at the Multi-Purpose Center.

Winners in Flight A were: first, Randy Silver and Marguerite Zahoruiko; second, David Lock and Patricia Garcia; third, Luke Merry and Martine Begert; fourth, Roger Briggs and Lucille Theriault.

Winners in Flight B were: first, Charlie Bartlett and Allie Boyer; second, Richard Balian and Donald Johnson. Another game will be played at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the center. A partner is guaranteed.

The club also met on Oct. 29 at Schooner Estates. Winners were: first, Lucille Theriault and Bruce Murray; second, Dot Kelleher and Bjorn Axelson; third, Jeanine Kivus and Rosemarie Goodwin; tied at fourth, Mike Quinn and Leslie Buzzell with Martine Begert and David Lock.
