AUBURN – Assistant Chief Cam Martin of the Auburn Fire Department has been accepted into the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Md.

This intensive, five-year program involves a two-week course at the academy each year with an applied research project due in between each class. The academy only selects 24 chief officers from around the country to start the program each year, and Martin is only the second member of the fire department to have been enrolled.

This executive fire officer designation is accepted around the country as the standard for chief officers. His first class is scheduled for May.
