Patriotic program

PARIS – The monthly meeting of the Floyd A. Harlow Post and Auxiliary 9787 will begin with a social time at 5:30 p.m. followed by supper at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the Post Home, Main Street, South Paris. The evening program will feature “Four On a Match” of Bethel who will sing patriotic songs.

Japan gardening

PARIS – The McLaughlin Garden Foundation, Garden & Horticultural Center is presenting a program on Japanese gardens from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the center at 97 Main Street, South Paris.

The program will be presented by Fullbright Memorial participant and SAD 17 educator Nancy Hohmann. She will discuss design principles, show slides and share stories from her recent trip.

A cost of $8 includes refreshments.

‘Hee Haw’ time

BRYANT POND – The Franklin Grange 124 will hold a mock “Hee Haw” show at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at the grange hall. Participants will include Ginger Mae Dyer, Scoggin Cloggers, Erlon Hadley, Keith and Les Wing, and Bill Rice. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children under 12. Baked bean supper

OXFORD – There will be a “Just Like Grandma’s” Baked Bean Supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Rock-O-Dundee Riders clubhouse on Paine Road in East Oxford. The menu will include pea beans, red kidney beans, red hot dogs, all beef brown hot dogs, American chop suey, cole slaw, homemade biscuits, a homemade dessert and beverage. United Parish

NORTH WATERFORD – The Oxford County United Parish Churches will hold Sunday worship services at 10 a.m. beginning in November at the North Waterford Congregational Church. Services will be held at North Waterford through the winter. Sunday school meets at 10 a.m. The Rev. George Frobig has announced the next business meeting of the United Parish Churches will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at the North Waterford Congregational Church vestry.
