PARIS – Community Concepts will be offering two parenting workshops. The first one is an eight-week Nurturing Father’s program. This is a nationally-recognized program that offers fathers, stepfathers, adoptive fathers and other fathering males a chance to talk with other fathers about dealing with the stress of parenting, disciplining without violence, balancing work and fathering, communication, play, teamwork with your spouse or partner, and safe ways to vent frustration.

There will be a free dinner every week. The class will run for eight Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. beginning Dec. 3, at Community Concepts, 7 Lowell St., in Rumford.

There is no cost for the program. Brent Laflin, one of Community Concepts’ Family Support Workers and a father of two children is presenting the program.

Contact him at 364-3721 extension 4004 to register or for more information.

“Boot Camp for New Dads,” another parenting program that new dads have raved about, is a 3-hour session held on a Saturday morning, and geared to first time dads and fathering males who have either never changed a diaper or are getting used to living with a newborn.

Two sessions are planned with the first being held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 15, at Community Concepts at 4 Market Square in South Paris, and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 6, at Community Concepts, Chisholm School, 100 York St., Rumford. Both workshops are free. To register, call 743-7716 extension 1321 or 364-3721 extension 1321.
