JAY – Someone broke into LaFleur’s Restaurant and made off with an undetermined amount of money. It’s the second time the eatery has been hit in two years.

Police are also investigating the theft of an all-terrain vehicle from the back of a pickup truck parked at Jay Plaza.

Jay Detective Russell Adams said that the burglary at the Main Street restaurant occurred between late Friday or Saturday morning.

Officer Richard Caton IV responded and discovered entry was gained through a window, the same one used the last time the establishment was broken into, Adams said.

Police are also looking for a 2003 Polaris all-terrain vehicle, yellow with a black stripe, Adams said.

The recreation vehicle was taken from the back of a truck while it was parked in a side lot at the Jay Plaza. It was used by construction workers working at International Paper
