LEWISTON – “Top Dollar” David Gervais was once again the top individual fund-raiser for the American Diabetes Association, not only for the Lewiston/Auburn walk, but for the state.

Gervais’ fund-raising efforts for America’s Walk for Diabetes have grown by leaps and bounds each year. This year he raised $7,516 for research, education and advocacy programs.

For his efforts, Gervais will receive a $100 gift certificate from Hannaford’s Supermarkets, in addition to various incentive prizes.

Gervais is also a key member of the planning committee for the Androscoggin County America’s Walk for Diabetes.

New to the 500+ Club is the youth chairwoman for the Lewiston/Auburn walk – Amanda Burgess. With the help of family and friends, Burgess raised $675.

She was also the team captain for the Burgess Bunch, whose team totaled more than $1,000.
