MOSCOW – The 54th annual Hanscom family reunion (descendants of Lorenzo Lancelot Hanscom and Josephine Nutter Stone of Patten and Pittston) met at the home of Kenneth and Caroline Hanscom on Sept. 21. A potluck dinner, with baked beans and casseroles, was served.
At the business meeting that followed, the secretary’s report and the treasurer’s reports were read and accepted. Carl and Loretta Hanscom, Londonderry, N.H., traveled the farthest. Loretta received recognition as the oldest attending and her grand-nephew, Kevin Crossman, was the youngest.
Officers elected were Carl Hanscom, Londonderry, president; Betty Warren, Pittston, vice president; Julie Crossman, Caratunk, treasurer; Daniel H. Warren Jr., Pittston, secretary; and Margaret J. Dixon, Cape Neddick, notice committee.
It was voted to continue the effort to get a gravestone for Aaron Hanscom, a Revolutionary War ancestor who is buried in Machias.
The next reunion will be held the third Sunday in September, 2004, at the home of Kenneth and Caroline Hanscom.
