BETHEL – The Mahoosuc Land Trust begins its Local Knowledge program series on Wednesday, Nov. 12, with a presentation by Jerry Vincent. Vincent, a geologist, will speak about the geology of Western Maine. A graduate of the University of Maine and Texas A&M University, Vincent taught for many years in Texas before retiring to Bethel in 1992. His specialization in geology includes paleoecology and sedimentary environments.
Vincent will speak in Trustees Auditorium in the McLaughlin Science Center on the Gould Academy campus at 7 p.m. The program is open to nonmember, is free of charge and is handicapped accessible. For more information, contact the Land Trust office at 824-3806.
Other speakers in the program series include Bernd Heinrich, noted wildlife biologist and author; and Jennifer Loomis, prize-winning wildlife photographer and author. The Chewonki Foundation will present Raptors of Maine.
