MECHANIC FALLS – Pottle Hill Inc. is a recipient of a $5,000 grant awarded by the Agnes M. Lindsay Trust Committee in Manchester, N.H. The money will be used to purchase commercial grade floor and carpet cleaning equipment.
The equipment will help people with disabilities perform janitorial duties at local businesses, including Lewiston District Court, a new contract for Pottle Works.
Agnes M. Lindsay (1870-1937) lived on her Bridgewater, Mass., farm with her husband, Edwin, until his death in 1925. Her will stipulated that a trust be established to help aid charitable, educational and philanthropic purposes restricted to Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Vermont.
Pottle Hill’s mission is to advocate for individuals limited by disability or society. To meet the differing needs of its active and retired participants, Pottle Hill’s mission is carried out in two services programs: the Pottle Works for adults who have developmental disabilities and other select disabilities and the William T. Twarog Senior Enrichment Center for adults of retirement status who have developmental and other select disabilities.
