BERLIN, N.H. – The White Mountain Veterans Council, which is made up of local veterans organization, will conduct a Veterans Day program on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
The observance detail and those in the community wishing to participate in the observance are asked to meet at the Berlin VFW Post, 1107 Main St., between 7:30 and 8:15 a.m.
The detail will hold a ceremony at the Milan Memorial at the Milan church at 9 a.m.
The observance schedule is as follows:
9 a.m. Milan Memorial, 9:45 a.m. Memorial Field, 10 a.m. Veterans Park (Cole Street), 10:20 a.m. World War I Memorial (Grand Trunk Park), 10:30 a.m. World War II, Korean and Vietnam memorials (Glen Avenue), 10:45 a.m. Spanish American Memorial (East Mason Street), 11 a.m. Lost at Sea observance ( East Mason Street Bridge behind City Hall), 11:20 a.m. return to VFW Post for debriefing.
The veterans council has requested that at 11 a.m. all church bells, fire horns, work horns and any drivers within the city ring their bells and blow their horns in observance of the signing of the Armistice Agreement calling an end to the World War I conflict.
