BRUNSWICK – The Amherst College women’s soccer team erupted for six unanswered goals to hand Bates College a 6-0 loss in the NESCAC Championship game Sunday.
The Jeffs were led by Ashley Harmerling who tallied a hat trick in the victory.
Kaitlin Hill, Lee-Jay Henry, and Amy Armstrong rounded out the scoring as Amherst earns the automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament, while the Bobcats will wait to see if they will recieve an at-large bid.

Northeastern 2, Maine 0
BOSTON – Junior Mari Creatini scored with 2:32 to go in the first half as top-seeded Northeastern University handed the University of Maine a 2-0 setback in America East Chamionship field hockey action Sunday afternoon.
The game-winning goal came as Whitney Shean crossed the ball from left to right in front of the net, setting up Cretaini who fired the ball into the right corner for the goal.
Liane Dixon added an insurance goal in the second half to effectivley put the game out of reach. The Huskies earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.
