WILTON – The town of Wilton needs community members to volunteer for three committees, said Town Manager Peter Nielsen last week. All of the committees meet quarterly. While selectmen volunteered to serve on two of the committees, one is still vacant.

The town is looking for a person to represent the community as a director on the Sandy River Recycling Association’s Board of Directors.

Selectman Jeff Rowe volunteered to serve on the LifeStar Ambulance Advisory Committee. Nielsen said the ambulance service expects to raise the municipal subsidy for service even higher than originally expected due to difficulties in getting Medicaid reimbursement. This is of grave concern to area towns, he said. Last year, Selectman George Mosher served on the committee.

Selectman Keith Swett agreed to serve for one year on a committee for Channel 11 public access television. It will meet the second Monday of January, March, June and September.

Anyone interested in serving on any of these committees should contact Nielsen at the town office at 645-4961. The town is in particular need of someone to volunteer for the recycling committee, he said.
