LEWISTON – The “Heart Gallery” is open at two locations in November to celebrate National Adoption Awareness Month. There are more than 3,100 children in foster care throughout the state.

The Maine Department of Human Services and A Family for ME invite people to see exceptional portraits of children seeking adoptive families by Maine photographer Chuck Pelletier.

Two hundred and ten Maine children are seeking adoptive families and the “Heart Gallery” opened to portray the personalities and passions of these children, hoping to spend the New Year with a family of their own.

Visit either the University of Maine at Augusta’s Bennett D. Katz Library or USM’s Lewiston-Auburn College Hall Gallery through Dec. 1. Call A Family for ME at 1-877-505-0545 to get more information on the “Heart Gallery.”
