Saint Peter and Sacred Heart Jr. High read to first graders on Friday for 20 minutes. They come up to the sixth grade classroom with their books and we separate and read to them. Every first Friday of every month we change buddies. We keep these buddies for the month.

Kirsten Conner one of the first graders said, “I love reading buddies.” Colin Benson another first grader said, “I like reading buddies because it makes me feel grown up. Kaitlyn Rourke another first grader said she likes reading buddies because it is fun to read. Josh Phillbrook of eighth grade likes reading buddies because he says his reading buddy is cool. Janna Laverdiere of eighth grade likes reading buddies because she said she likes reading. Erynne Landry a seventh grader said, “I like reading to little kids.” This program helps little kids learn to read.
