PORTLAND – Maine Small Business Development Centers has announced that it, the Finance Authority of Maine and the Maine Investment Exchange will be lead sponsors of a Dec. 9 entrepreneurs and investors summit at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland.
The summit, which will be presented by the National Association of Seed and Venture Funds, consists of two parallel tracks: one investors; one for entrepreneurs.
Track I, “Seed Investing as a Team Sport,” will provide investors with knowledge on how to structure and vet investments in entrepreneurial ventures. Track II, “Swing for the Fences,” will feature tools for entrepreneurs to understand how to best attract capital and put together a plan that will successfully fund early-stage companies.
Following Track I for investors, a MIX forum will be held. There, four companies will make 10-minute presentations about their early-stage companies in the hopes of attracting potential financial backers. Entrepreneurs and investors also will have an opportunity to network during lunch and the reception to be held at the summit’s end.
More information and registration forms can be found at www.mixforum.org.
