If you are waltzing down the social studies wing one day at LHS, and you happen to hear facts of geometry, stop to welcome Mrs. Karen Choate to our school. She is the new math teacher on Team Three of the four freshmen teams at Lewiston High. Team three, now in its fourth year, took on Mrs. Choate as a qualified and dedicated replacement for the team’s math teacher. The former math teacher, Mrs. Bradley graciously accepted a position in administration as the freshmen “frosh” Assistant Principal for LHS. This is Mrs. Choate’s first experience with the teaming structure of teaching and she sees it as a great way to “bolster freshman.”
With a bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College in Norton, MA, this lively teacher is a great asset to freshmen and the staff alike. She is great with the students, and provides valuable insight to the LHS Math Team. The former library assistant of two years at Oak Hill High School said, “she was ready for a lifestyle change.” Having been a substitute at this school before, she had a taste of the atmosphere and decided to continue her influence at LHS.
Without a doubt, most teachers have lives outside of school. For Mrs. Choate, her life is her kids. This mother of three is an active participant in Girl Scouts of America and is working to benefit society by training young adults for the real world as a teacher. Please welcome Mrs. Choate to life at Lewiston High School, for she can benefit from us just as much as we cam benefit from her.
