1917 – 2003

AUBURN – Marie R. Obie, 86, a resident of 85 Caron Lane, Auburn, died Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Odd Fellows Home, following a long illness.

Born in Lowell, Mass., Sept. 4, 1917, the daughter of John Baptist and Albina (Croteau) Desmarais, she married Alfred F. Obie on Aug. 31, 1934 and he predeceased her. She was the last of nine siblings.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Normand (Marie) Tancrel of Greene; one son, Alfred Obie and his wife, Flossie of Lowell, Mass.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
