The School Committee suspended a student until August 2004.

JAY – A student disciplinary hearing held Thursday night by the School Committee ended in a lengthy suspension for a Jay high school student.

The unnamed student was accused of smoking on school property, breaking into the high school building and taking money from the building. The suspension will last until Aug. 15, 2004 when committee members will discuss the case again and decide on any further action.

The committee also considered nominees for 16 co-curricular staff positions, including coaching staff, assistants and academic team coordinators. All 16 of the nominations made by Superintendent Robert Wall were approved.
