This nation cannot afford to give $20 billion to reconstruct Iraq. Many people who receive disability and Social Security are forced to live at or below the poverty level. The number of senior citizens who have difficulty paying for the prescriptions they need is frightening. Many people who receive disability are expected to live on as little as possible.
We have always believed that charity starts at home. The $20 billion in reconstruction money should be used here at home.
