LEWISTON – Mrs. Jeanne T. Libby, 77, of Montello Heights and formerly of Flanders St., Auburn, died early Sunday morning, Nov. 16, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Auburn, Aug. 5, 1926, a daughter of Emile and Marguerite (Flynn) Theriault. She was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community.

On April 28, 1945 she married Laroy Libby who died Sept. 24, 1997, after 52 years of marriage. Mrs. Libby worked as a homemaker as she and her husband raised their family, but she did also work for several years as a cook for The Madison St. School for handicapped children in Auburn. She was a member of 6th St. Congregational Church, Eastern Star, Civil Air Patrol and the Young Mothers’ Club of Rowe’s Corner in Auburn.

In her free time she enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, listening to music and the company of family and chatting with friends. She leaves: four daughters, Patricia Godinez of Turner, June Chartier of Auburn, Sandra Rollins of Dover-Foxcroft and Betty Butler and husband, Michael, of Lisbon; a son, Denis Libby and wife, Leslie, of Westford, Mass.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gracia Mercier and husband, Antonin, of Greene, Irene Beaulieu, also of Greene, and Margaret Wright and husband, Frank, of Durham; and two brothers, Harvey Theriault and wife, Margaret, of Auburn and Normand Theriault and wife, Lucille, of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Breanna Godinez, a sister, Claire Keene, and two brothers, Joseph Theriault and Maurice Theriault.
