PARIS – The Oxford County Soccer Club will hold an informational meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Oxford Hills Middle School Media Room. The upcoming indoor soccer season and fall 2004 travel program will be discussed. The club is seeking adult volunteers to help with boys and girls teams. Church topic
PARIS – The Rev. Art Judge will be the speaker at the 10 a.m. service at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris, Sunday, Nov. 23. Dr. Judge is a member of King’s Chapel, Boston, and an active member of the New Massachusetts Universalist Convention. His sermon topic will be, “Thanksgiving for the Generations.” The music will be by Jeannie Byers, soloist, and Forest Perkins, church organist. Sunday School will be in session and child care is provided. The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. Everyone is welcome.
Play auditions
NAPLES – Auditions for the one-act play, “Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep,” will be held at Lake Region High School from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 24 and 25. There are parts for 21 to 30 high school aged actors.
Auditions will consist of readings from the script. The play will be directed by Jerry Walker. The main production is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 30. Rehearsals will be held after school and some evenings. The production is being sponsored by the Lake Region High School Natural Helpers and the Katie Simpson Fund.
Free dinner
NORWAY – Free Community Thanksgiving Day turkey dinner will be served at noon on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, Paris and Beal streets. The dinner is co-sponsored by Christ Episcopal Church and St. Catherine of Sienna Church of Norway.
Holiday concert
BETHEL – The Mahoosuc Community Band will give its annual Christmas concert, a program of traditional and contemporary Christmas music for concert band, at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 8. The concert will take place at the West Parish Congregational Church on Church Street in Bethel.
