NORTH WATERFORD – A Thanksgiving Eve service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, at the North Waterford Congregational Church. The Rev. George Frobig invites members and friends of the Oxford County United Parish to attend the joint service with the Sweden and Waterford Congregational Churches.
A Thanksgiving dinner will be served at 2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day at the North Waterford Congregational Church vestry. Frobig invites anyone wishing to attend this meal to call him at 693-6461 no later than Sunday, Nov. 23.
VFW met
PARIS – The South Paris Veterans of Foreign Wars and Auxiliary met for a potluck supper and meeting Nov. 5. The a cappella group, Four on a Match, a quartet of women from the Sweet Adelines, entertained with World War II songs.
The auxiliary decided to hold its Christmas party on Dec. 12 with light refreshments, Christmas music and a gift exchange. Women will bring a gift for a woman, and men will bring one for a man. The minimum spending limit will be $5.
All VFW and auxiliary members are encouraged to bring their favorite snack foods.
Holiday concerts
BERLIN, N.H. – St. Kieran Community Center for the Arts at 155 Emery St. will present three concerts as part of its Christmas celebration. The first one will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, when Swell Party, a vocal harmony group, will appear in a holiday show. Tickets are $10 at the door. The Brass Venture will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, with a Christmas Pops concert. Tickets are $15 at the door. The North Country Community Chorus presents its Christmas concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14. Tickets are $5 at the door. For more information, call 603-752-1028.
Craft fair
OXFORD – The Oxford Seventh-day Adventist Church (off Fore Street) is sponsoring a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7, in the church basement. Tables can be rented for $10.
There will be baked goods for sale and there will also be a white elephant table. All donations accepted. For more information call 743-8834. All proceeds will go toward a new copy machine.
