LISBON – The Green Thumb Gang has announced that the annual tree lighting will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, in the Citizens’ Gazebo Park on Route 196, just across from Lisbon High School.

Festivities will begin at 4 p.m. with a holiday performance and caroling sing-along led by Sounds Easy. Girl Scouts will be sharing the spotlight and singing a few songs just before the 5 p.m. arrival of Santa Claus.

The fire department has offered to escort Santa to the gazebo once he arrives in town. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served.

The Green Thumb Gang is seeking volunteers to help defray the cost of the event by baking and donating cookies and large candy canes. The group can also use Polaroid film for those who don’t have a camera and want a picture of their child sitting on Santa.
