AUBURN – The North Pole has announced that Santa will arrive in downtown Auburn on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 5:30 p.m.

Santa’s parade will begin in New Auburn and proceed down Main Street to Festival Plaza. At the plaza, the awaiting crowd will count down as Santa lights the Christmas tree and all of downtown.

“It’s my favorite time of the year, and what better way to start it off than with games, music and jolly old St. Nick himself,” said Laurie Smith, Auburn’s community relations manager.

The pre-Santa activities will begin at 4 p.m. at Festival Plaza with hayrides through the lighted downtown, arts and crafts, a toy scavenger hunt, train display and a moon bounce for the kids.

Holiday music will ring throughout the plaza as everyone waits for the tree lighting. Santa will be available to take children’s Christmas wishes and give away free photos until the last child is served.

The Auburn Business Association, which arranges for Santa’s arrival, will provide free hot drinks and doughnuts from 4 to 6 p.m. at Festival Plaza.
