GUILFORD, Vt. (AP) – A 20-year-old Guilford man died Sunday after his car hit a tree in what the state police say was a high speed crash that involved alcohol.

Lukas G. Lashway was pronounced dead at the scene of the three a.m. accident, police said.

Lashway’s vehicle was traveling on the Weatherhead Hollow Road when it left the roadway and hit a tree. Police say the car split in two and Lashway was ejected from the vehicle, police said.
