STRONG – Sandy Pomelow, vice president of Human Resources at North Country Associates, presented employees of Strong Nursing Home safety awards for two years of work without a lost-time accident.

This is a major accomplishment for the facility whose entire resident population requires total assistance with all transfers.

Pomelow asked staff what they felt contributed to such a successful safety program. Employees responded it was a commitment from management to work safe, communications with each other regarding safe practices, creativity when faced with difficult tasks to modify and teamwork.

Employees who have been employed the entire two years received sweatshirts. There was also a drawing for five L.L. Bean gift certificates.
