BANGOR (AP) – Capital Seven said Tuesday it has named Bangor City Councilor David Nealley as executive vice president, responsible for overseeing the development of a racino at the Bangor Historic Raceway.

A Bangor native, Nealley was president and CEO of Snow and Nealley Co., a local business long known for its axes and mauls.

In his new job with Capital Seven, Nealley will be responsible for oversight and coordination of capital improvements at the harness track, including development of an entertainment center featuring slot machines approved by voters in a statewide referendum.

“I am excited to move forward with Capital Seven as we work to not only build the harness industry here in Maine, but also to contribute to the economic growth of Bangor and the surrounding region,” Nealley said in a statement.
