Did you know that Elm Street School teachers still do not have a contract?
One of the issues is the perception that the teachers are unwilling to accept a change in their insurance coverage. In truth, however, Elm Street School teachers have given up raises in the past as a trade-off to preserve their insurance coverage.
As a result of these compromises, the teachers have not maintained salary increases that even come close to the rate of inflation over the past 20 years.
We would greatly appreciate support at our monthly school board meetings, which are at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month in the conference room at Elm Street School. The next meeting will be Dec. 9.
