VTech introduces the world’s first true ‘Teen Phone’ – a stylish cordless phone every student is sure to want

Just in time for the holiday season, VTech Communications, Inc. (a subsidiary of VTech Holdings Ltd., SEHK: 303; London SE: VTH; ADR: VTKHY), a pioneer in cordless telephony since its introduction of the world’s first fully digital 900 MHz cordless telephone, recently announced the introduction of its revolutionary new VTech V Mix Cordless Phones. The V Mix, which debuted at the 2003 Consumer Electronics Show, is already a hit with teens, tweens and “in tune” parents.

“The VTech V Mix, the first telephone of its kind developed specifically for teenagers and Generation Z, is the perfect gift – whether you’re buying for a tween or college bound teen” said Brad Pittmon, VTech Product Manager. “This phone is geared specifically toward the teen and ‘young at heart’ markets, and is inspired by the advanced features and exciting options of current cellular phones. The coupling of the V Mix’s fun features with VTech’s superior product quality makes it easier than ever to call friends, check on homework assignments and keep in touch.”

Ring, ring, ring – not your parent’s ring

To alert you of incoming calls, the V Mix offers six distinctive teen-inspired pop song ringer melodies, including “We Will Rock You,” James Bond Theme, “All The Small Things,” “Gonna Fly Now (Theme from Rocky),” “Lady Marmalade” and “What A Girl Wants.” The ringer tones are polyphonic, and consist of eight instruments, allowing the melodies to closely resemble actual songs. In addition, the VTech V Mix features composer software that teens can utilize to program up to seven additional favorite songs using MIDI-files and accordingly set them as ringer tones.

For those late night calls when privacy is a must, the V Mix offers a flashing visual ringer display on the antenna and keypad to alert you of incoming calls – whether you’re listening to music and can’t hear the ringer or if you’ve disabled the ringer to not wake up the parents!

The VTech V Mix also incorporates playful animated display features that alert to voicemail messages. In addition, teens can assign one of the animated figures to match a favorite person in the 50-name phonebook directory – instant entertainment every time the phone rings!

The V Mix has a trendy look and fun color scheme – it debuts in a vibrant orange – and features three additional changeable face and base plates that come in fashion colors, making it an aesthetically pleasing fit in any teen’s room! The VTech V Mix also includes durable rubber detailing and fun styling on the handset for those times it isn’t placed directly (and gently!) back in the base.

Fun features to keep up with the times

The innovative VTech V Mix Cordless Phone also features Caller ID Call Waiting, 30-channel operation and a universal 2.5-mm output jack that accepts external headsets for private, mobile, hands-free conversations.

The V Mix Cordless Phone is currently available at major retailers. The product includes one base unit, handset and three interchangeable face and base plates. The V Mix carries a suggested retail price of $59.95, making it easier than ever to be a student and “Spread The Word.”
