JAY – A winter parking ban for overnight parking on town streets went into effect Nov. 1 and will continue until April 15. Violations will be towed at the owner’s expense. Residents are also reminded that the town office will be closed Nov. 27 and 28 for the Thanksgiving holiday and that items in the Jay cemeteries should be picked up as soon as possible. Any items remaining after Dec. 1, will be removed and discarded.

Monday Club

FARMINGTON – The Farmington Monday Club will meet at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at the Pierce House. Dan Woodward will present the program, A Musical Moment. Hostesses are Pat Durham, Nikki Adams, Agnes Brooks, Dot Sweatt and Minta Williams.

FARMINGTON – The Beloit Poetry Journal, a staple of the American literary scene for over 50 years, will celebrate its recent arrival in Farmington with a performance at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at Devaney Doak & Garrett Booksellers.
