1948 – 2003
LEWISTON – Richard S. Foote, 55, of Beals Street, Lisbon Falls died at Central Maine Medical Center Wednesday, Nov. 26.
He was born on Sept. 13, 1948, the son of Theodore and Ruth (Symington) Foote. He was a graduate of Higgins Classical Institute in Charleston. Mr. Foote joined the United States Navy in 1967 and served 20 years until his retirement in 1987. Mr. Foote worked as a hull technician and achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He served on the U.S.S. Puget Sound and was awarded various medals for his duties throughout his career.
Mr Foote worked at Bath Iron Works for 15 years after his retirement from the Navy. On Oct. 5, 1980, he married the former Bonny Pinette. Mr. Foote enjoyed woodworking, sitting on the deck with his cats, spending time with good friends, Steve, Chuck, and Donald, and fishing with his son Josh.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years; two sons, Vincent Poulin of Westbrook and Joshua Foote of Lisbon Falls; his parents of Kissimmee, Fla.; his granddaughter, Stephanie Poulin of Westbrook; his sister, Suzanne Gauthier and husband Dale of Old Town; in-laws, Ruth and Gerry Robert, and Michael and Anne Pinette; he will also be missed by his many neices and nephews.
