CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) – A Cambridge man has been charged with murder in the death of a 75-year-old woman.

Cambridge police and fire officials found Mary Toomey’s body at her Berkshire Street apartment on Wednesday night, after a concerned neighbor called because Toomey had not been seen for several days.

Later on Wednesday, police arrested Anthony DiBenedetto, 46, without incident. Investigators believe DiBenedetto was living with Toomey.

DiBenedetto was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Cambridge District Court.

A spokeswoman for the Middlesex District Attorney’s office said the cause of death and motive are still under investigation. An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted in the next several days by the state Medical Examiner’s office.
