AUBURN – On Monday, Dec. 1, the Auburn Mall will sponsor Pet Night with Santa Claus, who will be available for photos with pets from 5 to 9 p.m.

Pet nights will also be held Dec. 8 and 15, same time and place.

A portion of the proceeds from the night will go directly to the homeless, abandoned and abused animals at the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society for food, shelter, veterinary care and a chance at a new home.

The humane society provides a safe haven for about 3,600 sick, homeless and abused animals in the greater Androscoggin area per year. The primary support for the shelter comes from fund-raising events and donations from citizens.

The Humane Society is located at 3312 Hotel Road in Auburn. If you are interested in learning more about volunteering at the shelter or adopting an animal call 783-2311 or visit the Web site at www.gahumane.org.
