LEWISTON – Northern New England Neurosurgical Associates is welcoming Dr. Marc D. Christensen, to its practice.

Christensen completed his medical school training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and received his doctorate in neuroscience at the University of Texas, Galveston, where he studied and published in the field of spinal cord injury and regeneration.

He completed a seven-year neurosurgical residency at the State University of New York in Syracuse.

Christensen’s training included Gamma Knife Radiosurgery in the treatment of a wide variety of disorders, including malignant and benign tumors as well as trigeminal neuralgia.

He spent one year in Boston at Massachusettes General Hospital specializing in epilepsy and movement disorders.

Christensen’s current interests include complex cervical and thoraco-lumbar spinal surgery and the treatment of brain tumors and neurovascular disorders.
