When I read Danielle Taylor’s letter to the editor (Oct. 24), I wondered if she wrote the letter without parental assistance.

I can see why she would make the statement, “Homosexuality is gross.” Danielle was probably taught from an early age to pray for sinners. She ended her letter saying she would continue to pray for gays and lesbians.

Discrimination begins at home. That is why schools must teach the children about diversity.

Marriage – as defined as a union between a man and a woman – came about because the heterosexual community is 85 percent strong, so naturally laws were made to protect them, casting gays’ rights aside.

Marriage license legalizes sexual activities for the couple. The law does not care, as it once did, if they are criminal, mixed race or mentally challenged couples. Many poor people are looking for Mr. Joe or Ms. Jo Millionaire. Where is love?

It is time to remove the sin taboo inflicted on the gay community by granting them the marriage license, legalizing their sexual unions. Young people, like Danielle, could then pray for world peace instead of gays and lesbians conversions.
