FARMINGTON — Anita A. Reed, 74, of Jay, formerly of Zeffer Hills and Hialeah, Fla., died early Sunday morning, Nov. 30, at the Sandy River Nursing Care Center in Farmington.

She was born June 11, 1929, in Wilton, a daughter of James A. and Doris Sands Reed. She was educated in Wilton schools, graduating from Wilton Academy in 1946.

She was an eight-year veteran of the United States Army before moving to Florida where she worked at a wholesale paper house as a purchasing agent.

She lived in Hialeah, Fla. for 30 years before moving to Zeffer Hills, Fla. in her retirement. Ill health brought her back to Jay and most recently the Sandy River Nursing Care Center.

She is survived by her longtime friend and companion, Jean Bergquist of Jay; three sisters, Janet Lucarelli and her husband DeDo of Jay, Peggy Stickney and her husband Linwood of Wilton, and Constance Thompson of Jay.

She was predeceased by a brother Gerald Reed.
