LEWISTON – The Woman’s Hospital Association of Central Maine Medical Center will sponsor its annual Holiday Fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, in the lobby at 12 High St.

The fair will feature specialty baked goods and candies, as well as gift baskets and Christmas wreaths. There will also be a raffle with the following items: artwork, Shaker reproduction furniture, a handmade braided rug, a Longaberger Limited Edition Basket, and two tickets to the 2004 Spring Gala sponsored by the Woman’s Hospital Association. All proceeds from the fair benefit the School of Nursing Scholarship Program.

In addition to fair activities, there will be the lighting of the Tree of Love at 4 p.m. Jane Barron will serve as chairwoman of the 20th annual Tree of Love with all proceeds from the sale of the special lights going to the Cancer Care Immediate Needs Fund. During the lighting ceremony, there will be a musical program by flutist Kara Pavlak and refreshments will be served.

Special ornaments for the Tree of Love may be purchased at the gift shop at CMMC, or by sending a check to the gift shop at CMMC and made payable to the WHA. The following options are available: $5 for one outside light and one inside paper ornament; $10 for one outside light and one inside paper ornament with a bow, $25 for one outside light, one inside paper ornament with gold/silver bow and one glass ornament inscribed and to be picked up at the gift shop the day of the lighting. The lights may be purchased “in memory of” or “in honor” of a friend, family member or loved one. For more information on the Tree of Love, call Barron at 783-1103.
