LEWISTON – Members of Dr. Paul Fortier Chapter 52, Association Canado-Americaine will get into the holiday spirit on Monday, Dec. 8, at a special Christmas gathering at the Multi-Purpose Center.

The event will get under way at 6:30 p.m. with a brief business meeting, followed by a program of jigs and reels performed on fiddles and guitar by student musicians from Bates College’s Freewill Folk Society. A buffet of traditional French-Canadian tourtiere (meat pie), finger rolls, salads, pastries and other fare will follow.

The evening will conclude with an appearance by the local bilingual musical group, the SilverTones, who will entertain with selections from their repertoire of old-time songs, inviting the audience to join them in singing some holiday favorites. Also included in the program will be door prizes and a 50-50 drawing.
