LEWISTON – Michael H. Fox has been promoted to assistant vice president in the Distributed Applications Development Department at Banknorth Group Inc. in Lewiston. As a software developer, he will design specifications for applications, lead a team of programmers in writing applications, and manage application releases and servers in the test lab.

Fox, who joined Banknorth in 2001, previously served as a programmer and analyst.

A Windham resident, Fox is a graduate of the University of Maine and South Portland High School.
