AUBURN – Students in Charles Berry’s eighth-grade accelerated language arts class at Auburn Middle School recently held Respect Night.
Sixteen students worked for six weeks compiling a 50- to 70-page notebook of articles, memorabilia and essays about the person they chose to respect and honor.
Recipients arrived at the evening event unaware they were the guests of honor and were all surprised to be presented with a Respect scrapbook. Honorees ranged from parent, grandparent, sibling step-parent, aunt, uncle, close family friend to adult mentor. Students led discussions about respect and family values before the presentation ceremony. Refreshments were served.
