LEWISTON – Olivia Zurek scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Bates College women’s basketball team to a 91-64 win over Salem State.

Lauren DeBois added 13 points for Bates, while Kyla Decato came off the bench for 12 points and four assists for the Bobcats (2-2). Betsy Hochadel added 10 points and six rebounds.

Gillian Almeida led Salem State (3-1) with 15 points on 7-for-10 shooting. Estrella Juilan added 11 points, and Meghan DePatsy scored 10 points for the Vikings.

CMCC 79, SMCC 18

AUBURN – Ashley Swett banked 21 points to lead Central Maine Community College to a dominating 79-18 victory over Southern Maine CC.

Lakeesha Holloman added 18 points for the Mustangs (7-0). Megan Lever and Jessica Newton combined for 21 points for the victory.

Yaicha Provencher scored eight points for SMCC (4-1).

Men’s basketball
CMCC 70, SMCC 60

AUBURN – Chris Brackett netted 19 points to lead Central Maine CC to a 70-60 men’s basketball victory over Southern Maine CC.

Josh Berard and Jeremy Thomas each chipped in with 13 points for the Mustangs (9-2), while Pat Dempsey added 10.

Steven Patrick sank 14 points while Matt Ouellette chipped in with 13 points for SMCC (4-3).
