1928 – 2003
WELD – Wilhemina Talbot Bowen was born Feb. 11, 1928, in New York City, N.Y., and passed away Nov. 30, after a long illness.
She graduated from Cushing Academy, Ashburnham, Mass., and received her degree in retailing from Simmons College, Boston, Mass. She resided in Old Greenwich, Conn., for 50 years during which time she was active in the P.T.A. at North Mianus School, belonged to the Republican Town Committee, was a real estate agent, and owned her own custom dressmaking business for over 40 years.
She had a special gift for connecting with her clients fashion needs. “Billie” was an avid gardener, reader, and loved to spend time with her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren. She spent some of her happiest remaining years in Maine.
She is survived by her husband, Albert E. Bowen Jr. of Greenwich, Conn.; her two daughters, Laura Simon of Seattle, Wash., and Andrea Bowen of Weld; her son, Greg Bowen of Del Mar, Calif.; three grandchildren; her sister, Shirley Talbot Kelley of Nashville, Tenn.; and a brother, Bruce Bowen Talbot of Phoenix, Ariz.
