POLAND – The Poland Regional High School Chorus, Bruce Whittier Middle School Chorus and singing and dance classes at the high school will present Franco-American Holiday “Revels” on Thursday, Dec. 4, in the Robert Wall Auditorium of the high school.

The festivities will begin at 7 p.m. with a set of tunes by the middle school band. The singing and dancing of traditional French carols will follow, after which the audience will be invited to participate in the dance of the French Renaissance, the branle ronde.

Auxiliary dinner

LISBON – The VFW Post 9459 Auxiliary will host a Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day dinner and program on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the post home, Route 196. A social hour will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 6. Donations are $5. World War II veterans who are members of the post will receive complimentary dinner.

DNA printing

Birding trip

LEWISTON – The Stanton Bird Club will host a field trip to Marginal Way, Ogunquit, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6. Early winter ducks, especially harlequins and maybe a king eider, are the features.

Those attending should meet at the Promenade Mall in front of Staples at 8 a.m. The group will leave at 8:05. Pack a lunch and dress warmly. All are welcome to the free trip. Call trip leader Dan Marquis at 784-8397 for more information.

Parent program

BRUNSWICK – A parenting education program, “Caught in the Middle,” will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Brunswick High School library. The program is for separating or divorcing parents.

Participants will receive a manual, which covers workshop topics and includes a resource guide. The fee is $25 in advance, $40 the day of the workshop. For more information or to register, call 837-4893.

Holiday lunch

AUBURN – The Auburn-Lewiston Art and Literature Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, for the annual holiday luncheon at Rolandeau’s Restaurant. Each member is asked to bring a new book, an educational game or a toy for needy children.

Vaccine clinic

AUBURN – The Auburn Health and Social Services Department and Central Maine Medical Center will offer influenza, pneumococcal and Td vaccines on Monday, Dec. 8, and Tuesday, Dec. 9 (afternoon only).

The clinics will be held at the Auburn City Building, 45 Spring St. Vaccines are free, but all attending are asked to donate a non-perishable food item for the Good Shepherd Food Pantry’s “Pack the Pantry” campaign.

Adopts units

LISBON FALLS – Nelson-Conley Post 66, American Legion, has adopted Army units 1372 and 1373, serving in Iraq, for the holiday. The post collected and shipped four large boxes of gifts. Unit 1373 is a tank unit under the command of Cpt. Matt Palmer, Lisbon native.

Hummel club

LEWISTON – Nor’Easter Maine Chapter, M.I. Hummel Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St. A Christmas party will be held as well as a raffle for a Hummel figurine. Visitors are welcome.
