We have a celebrity at Lewiston Middle School – Devyn Cote. Devyn is thirteen years old and auditioned and was chosen for a part in the movie Empire Falls. He was going to be an extra in one of the scenes filmed in Ogunquit. However, Devyn broke his foot on his three-wheeler and was unable to be in that scene.

The stars were in Devyn’s favor because he was recalled to be in another scene- This one takes place in a dining room and Devyn’s cast was cleverly hidden under the table. Devyn was paid screen actors’ guild wages – $175. That is a lot of money for a thirteen-year-old. Devyn’s family is also involved in the movie. His mom and younger brother were filmed in Ogunquit and were fortunate to have their picture taken with Maine’s Survivor star Zoey Zanadakis, who does a scene with Paul Newman.

Although he does not have a favorite scene in Empire Falls, he does have a favorite actor, Adam Sandler. In Devyn’s spare time, he enjoys playing with his friends, soccer, baseball, and hockey. Be on the lookout for Devyn and his family in the movie Empire Falls.
