NEWRY – More than 150 Santas have now registered to participate in Sunday River’s annual Santa Sunday slated for Dec. 7. Participants are invited to don St. Nick’s attire in order to receive a free day of skiing or riding, as well as vouchers for two additional days that can be used before Dec. 19. Sunday River will also collect a minimum donation of $10 from each Santa that will go toward the Bethel Rotary Club’s annual Christmas drive for families in need. All participants are required to register online prior to the event at sundayriver.com. Participants will gather for a photo opportunity at 11 a.m. at the base of South Ridge.
SeniorsPlus
RUMFORD – Rumford Senior Center, 50 Congress St., will hold SeniorsPlus lunch and learn 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8. Learn to make a Christmas card. All materials will be supplied at no cost for one card. If you would like to make more than one card, there will be a $2 fee per extra card. The meal for the day will be grilled cheese sandwiches, fresh vegetable soup, apple crisp a la mode and choice of coffee, tea or milk. Cost is $2.50 suggested donation for those 60 and over and those with disabilities and $4 for those under 60. For reservations call Kim at 364-3572.

Alliance meeting
FARMINGTON – The next Tumbledown Conservation Alliance meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, in the Ricker Addition room 202 at University of Maine at Farmington. It is very important that people try to attend as there are important agenda items that will determine future TCA priorities and activities.
